Fever Ray - 'If I Had A Heart'

I discovered this band recently through the KEXP daily podcast. It uses a vocal style which reminds me of medieval organum, sung by monks. The vocal tracks apparently are not edited, with the smacking sounds left in, which is effective.

The music has an 'edging' quality that suggests development or climax, but pulls back creating a nice sense of tension that never gets released. The track accomplishes a doom factor that rivals death metal--without the volume.
