Instillation

 

I released an album in 2005 titled Instillation misspelled with an "i" instead of an "a". In retrospect, I realized the metaphorical meaning of the wordplay , although the original meaning had to do with a sense of stillness. Certain things are instilled in us as well as installed in us from previous generations. Our DNA is installed. Familial patterns of behavior and generational patterns are instilled in us through epigenetics. Our hard wiring is installed.
