Cameos

The December 30, 1897 diary entry of Count Harry Kessler references the purchase of Seurat's The Models at Vollard's for 1,200 francs.

When I researched it I found something curious: The work he purchased was a copy cropped on the right side and rotated horizontally. It's also interesting in that A Sunday on La Grande Jatte is on the left-hand side of the painting. It was either in the studio at the time or Seurat put it in as a cameo.
