Self-fulfilling Paranoia

Maître des Cassoni Campana, The Labyrinth of the Minotaur

The interest in AI is largely a sunk loyalty. Once you've dedicated a large part of your life to something, it's difficult to just give it up.

AI seems to be the chosen future (and new sunk loyalties) for the millennial generation, a Utopian dream not unlike what happened in the mid-60s with the use of psychedelics in the PC industry. With the new AI "revival" in its early stages, it will be generative, creating lots of new uses and products, mostly for leisure and convenience, and ignoring its moral and ethical implications, however that is defined, if at all.

It also comes at an inopportune time with fake news and/or paranoia about it. AI is in part the result of a "self-fulfilling paranoia"--a bad trip with or without the psychedelics.
