Easy's Not Easy

Ever since the Velvet Underground, more and more professions let people do things they weren't trained to do. Most pop musicians don't know, or don't need to know anything about music. Ronald Reagan was an (ok) actor, and discovered that his real talent was how to fuse politics and celebrity. Then Jesse Ventura became governor of Minnesota, then Arnold Schwarzenegger the governor of California, then -----, and now Kid Rock?!

Since politics and artifice are now one and the same, this Hitchcock quote rings true, albeit ironic, as it is now literally true:

"In my opinion, the chief requisite for an actor is the ability to do nothing well, which is by no means as easy as it sounds."
