Great World of Sound
I really liked this film--a must see for anyone that has been in the music business.
It is ironic that some of the musicians were actually very talented, which would beg the question of why they have never been 'discovered', if in fact they are obscure in real life. The girl that played the banjo impressed me, but she didn't have the requisite persona to go with it. But that is one of he film's salient points: being 'discovered' has been the elephant in the room of the music business, casting shadows over the art form itself. It's amazing how the music business--and other businesses (and politics) for that matter--have really become a part of the circus tradition.
Also a note about casting and costume: I thought the stereotypes of the stuffed shirts were very well depicted, cartooned by a poor sense of style like a purple shirt and beige sans-a-belt slacks, which says a lot about the personality of the GWS's CEO (whose initial just happen to be G.W.S....)
