Global Warming by Proxy

Burtynsky's work is classified as "mirror" art (as opposed to "window" art) i.e. that which reflects what's actually happening in the world. When you see it in a gallery, you are actually seeing a mirror reflection of what we are and what we do. The perception is that China has an environmental crisis of its own doing, when they are really a proxy of the US, and the environmental fallout is the result of our using China to produce cheap exports. It would be interesting to see some type of photo image of how much environmental damage is caused by manufacturing parts for a Chevy Volt!
