A 2046 Album Review

From the short story Reset 2046:

Review of Strategic Erasure published in Rolling Stone:

Nth makes a concerted effort to bring us back to the deep roots of old-timey pop music of the 1970s. Neone’s personal journey from mortality to immortality, and all the constituent memories, get woven into the songwriting. Women are less likely to erase memories as they seem to become so attached to them. This is what I find so compelling in the work of immortals: they have vastly larger memory banks and more grist for the mill, which ultimately enriches us all in the end. We have so much to learn from trans-mortals.

When we interviewed her in 2044, she was nostalgic for mid-20th century rock ‘n’ roll, avant-garde, Eno, David Bowie, and even some of the Brill songwriters. She continues to value deep music history and it is obvious on this record. It remains to be seen if Nth is true to their anti-algorithmic convictions, and continue down memory lane.
