10th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq and the country is rocked with explosions to "celebrate" the occasion. Tribal boundaries are not removed by political boundaries redefined under "democratic" ideals.

Watched some of the videos from those days and it's interesting that there's no sense of context or nostalgia—it could have happened yesterday. 10 years is not sufficient time to see differences. You need at least 20 years, a generation. The only cognitive dissonance you have is the comparison of the initial plans and the ultimate outcome.
