Music of Language (Cont.)

On the versatility of writing:

For as long as I can remember, I was always hearing the music in language. This is logical because both share patternicity--as well as generativity based on those patterns.

In the latest edition of Dynaxiom, I have begun to include musical notation for entries that I think are inherently musical.

Some of them have already turned into recorded songs, or at least demos for songs. (And don't steal my ideas!. You can license them.).

***

2292. It's easier to not admit that you were wrong when you can just find lots of other people to say you're right.

2276. Jealousy is the mistaken theft of love.

2239. Life is like riding on your very own bus: People get on, people get off--sometimes they get back on every day at the same time, and sometimes you never see them again--and the bus never stops--endlessly riding into the sunset. (11/2004)

2236. Making people cry is easy--making them laugh is harder now. (9/2004)

2231. It's important to understand what you don't understand.

2230. Every generation is a new frame of mind for the world.

2006. Photos are confection for memory; You can't avoid being seduced by them. You want to forget, but the beautiful photo haunts you forever. If you lost a great city, you should destroy all the old photos as well. [Anything can be reconstructed from memory, and gives room for innovation that wouldn't have been there in the first version]. (9/12/2001)

The rest of the lyric if or when the song gets finished:

Verse 1:

Before it was celluloid
A record and a trace
A picture on a postcard
The fading of a place
We see with the eyes of the heart
Can you see me as I am?
Vision sacralized
The divining of a plan

Verse 2:

Figments of imagination
Emulsion of emotion
Blurry on the edge
Zooming on a history
A mind is indelible
It wants to make it real
Double the exposure
Just to make it clear

Photos are confection for memory
You can't avoid being seduced
You want to forget
But the beautiful photos
Haunt you forever

Verse 3:

I woke up this morning
With the TV watching me
It's America's history
And nothing but a dream
How can I know for sure
Whether you are really you?
It's not the photographs
It's the things you say and do
