On Bad Pride/Bad Faith: Good Faith is Easy

The notion of a Straight Parade is interesting because it reveals its bad-faith intentions. If the intentions of a Straight Parade are done in good faith, they would have been happening all along. A Straight Parade is a veiled form of protest, or of social commentary--essentially a social media comment--a Twitter riposte in the form of a parade. This is not uninteresting in itself, but the staging of it has to be done with the purest intentions, not as a form of performance art parading as a parade. The Pride Parade as we know it always had good intentions and gay people wouldn't object to the Straight Pride parade if it were done with the same intentions. It would be interesting to see what the possible floats would be as a form of fun and celebration without dark protestations showing through. Intentions are difficult to do well but easy with good faith.

This relates to my continuing riff on Intentions.

Even if you are agnostic or atheist, the spiritual is what should inform intention: The whys can be answered by asking "What's the spirit of this?--then working towards that goal you discover the intentions. Hopefully, the intentions or inherent meaning that you find match the original intentions.
