Sonic Portraits
It's remarkable how a photograph can revive a sonic memory: About ten years ago I stumbled on this Ice Cream Truck turned Knife-Sharpening Truck. The truck’s chimes played a strange ironic melody--almost like a Wagnerian leitmotif played by low strings. I thought this was a slightly sinister juxtaposition.
Taking a photograph is an encoder of memory--and can include all of the senses.
