Quiddity

There is a scene in Blade Runner 2049 where K's holographic girlfriend Joi luxuriates in the pouring rain. As much as I like cybernetic and algorithmic approaches to music the feel of something real is so refreshing. Even though she's just photons, she appreciates the numinous quality (or the idea) of matter and mass. Purely electronic music is like a hologram--or anything that makes you enjoy the quiddity of nature.
