Lost in State
Sometimes you venture out in the snow and realize you need an umbrella. The false assumption is that snow is not a liquid. Even the algorithms that tell you when to take an umbrella don't catch the nuances because they are missing context. If you rely on algorithms, how can you trust that the details will always be reconciled? (Algorithms can be isolationist or ignorant of cultural variants. There are fifty Eskimo words for snow.) Ideally, algorithms need to draw from cultural conventions and quantify them accordingly. The fifty Eskimo words simply are numbered 1-50 and are correlated with temperature and wind speed. Words then would simply replace the numbers we associate with weather conditions. Color (or even sound) can do this as well, where certain color or pitch ranges would indicate the current condition and the forecast.
