Strange Fruit/New Musics
Experimental music is somewhat like exotic fruits. Once you've tried Buddha's Hand, Dragonfruit, Jackfruit and so on, and realize they taste like something you are already familiar with (though slightly strange) you realize why certain plants became widely appreciated. It's the same thing with music.
This is probably what will happen with algorithmic generative music, because it's not novel enough to be revolutionary, or to keep people from having a taste for the usual mango as opposed to some jackfruit. That said, some of these fruits are loaded with nutrients, which has an interesting corollary with culture.
I've always liked Eno's motto: "Go to an extreme and retreat to a more useful position." For him it's the pop song or chorale with some easy chords. For me it's an alternate tuning coming back around to Standard.
