Techne/Eudaimonia
Contemporary technology is becoming dystopian by default, so that's what we (should) think about first and foremost. If some of this looks crazy, it really is, and the ultimate payoff is questionable.
There can be lots of flavors of techno: techno-optimism, techno-pessimism, techno-narcissism, techno-aesthetics, techo-spiritualism, techno-asceticism (The Amish)--you just have to decide how you want to incorporate new technology, and when. You can't avoid technology--civilization never has. But some of this is clearly excessive.
I had this idea about the tombstones of the future (data graves), inscribed with the epitaphs of our desire for immortality--so ironic, carved on a piece of granite.
We seem to have an obsession for data. But that could be the next step in our evolution as a species: from symbols to speech to text to data to.... Clearly most of this technology could have been on drawing boards for decades, but is just now being rolled out.
