Paul Klee's Visual Music
Paul Klee would have been a jazz musician had he been born 50 years later.
Klee studied music when he was young, but decided in his teen years to become an artist.
Even though he had an affinity for baroque music, his work is evocative of jazz. He died in 1940, so he probably did not follow jazz later in his life.
But art can be reinterpreted in retrospect, with new music. Artists may not realize that their work represents music that hasn't been created yet.
