Millennium Park finally open. Exciting to enter for the first time. For years I have been looking at it through cyclone fences. The Gehry work is fabulous. The contrast between old and new is what makes this work.
The Kapoor 'Cloud Gate' ('The Bean') is stunning--instant icon status. Possible negative: Will this have any enduring value for the future? Will it experience the fate of 70s-era plop-art that eventually gets torn down? (2054: did they?)
