This is an interesting idea. Up until now, text has little to do with audio or video, and is used primarily for captions or subtitles. But what if the caption or subtitles are the primary content? Just as soundtracks add a layer of meaning, video tracks lie above the text (or are on the periphery in some way). This can only work on devices that resemble books, using e-ink. Otherwise it is no different than experiencing it on a back-lit screen. The surface is what's important here.
