Pay By The Scene

In January, Amazon.com will allow you to purchase individual pages, sections or chapters from a book. This will be great for people like me that are always copying chapters out of books. Now the movie studios need to do the same: allow viewers to download and save their favorite scenes from movies, which can be viewed on mobile video. (You don't need the whole movie. Scenes encapsulate how you feel about the whole thing, and your brain can fill in the rest of it.)

Malcolm Gladwell in his great book "Blink" calls this "thin-slicing". (Ironically, this is a book I recommend in its entirety.)
